AWRMI conducted various workshops, seminars, conferences etc in its premises
First Assam Water conference was held in Feb/2013 which was inaugurated by the then Hon’ble Chief Minister, Assam Sjt Tarun Gogoi and the focal theme of this conference was “Management of Water Resources in North East Region with special reference to Flood & Erosion Management”.
Subsequently the second Assam Water conference was held in Feb/2014 and its focal theme was “Sustainable Development of Water Resources in North East Region”.
The third Assam Water conference was held in Feb/2015 with the focal theme “Management of Water Related Disasters-Urban & Rural”. Moreover, in Nov/2015 a training cum workshop was held on World Bank Procurement Procedures under NHP.
A meeting/workshop was held from 29th Feb to 3rd March/2016 on preparation of Project Implementation Plan for North East under NHP. In July/2016 a workshop on Thrust areas of 100 days agenda of Hon’ble Chief Minister of Assam for Water Resources Department was held for two days. The workshop was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Chief Minister, Assam Sjt Sarbananda Sonowal. Focal theme of this workshop was (a) Flood and Erosion Management of Majuli Island and Nimatighat including comprehensive Study for long term sustainable solution (b) Rejuvination of Kollong River (c) Fluvial Morphology of River Brahmaputra, sediment management with possibility of Dredging by adopting Modern Technology and (d) Management of flood & erosion of Brahmaputra Barak Basin.
A meeting and workshop on implementation of National Hydrology Project in North Eastern Region was held in June/2017.
