The IS Codes covers the procedure for analyzing the stability of Earthen embankment/dam slopes for different conditions of loading to which dam/ embankments is expected to be subjected during its life time.

    • Nature of each stratum and engineering properties of soil and rock which may affect the design and mode of construction of the proposed structure.
    • Location of ground water and possible corrosive effect of soil and water on the construction materials.
